The last post of 2018 for FVE. The first picture Runway 32 was logged at 1415Z today. The second Runway 14 at 1417Z. The surface pavement is dry plowed snow. There was no ice under this thin covering. The pavement was exposed in places.

At 1413 Z FVE reported: wind 330@13; visibility 10; sky CLR; OAT 3 deg F.

FVE is reporting at 2136 Z: wind 340@07; visibility 10; sky CLR; OAT 10 deg F.

RWY 32 photo 1350 Z.

FVE RWY 32 at 1336 Z. A snow squall at 0030 Z 12/23 as the high pressure pushed the moisture out left a very thin rough coating of snow. This should continue to dissipate with the sun and wind.

FVE has reopened 1215 Z. At 1234 Z FVE reports: wind 140@12; visibility 1/4 LR Fog; sky Vertical Visibility 300; OAT 50 deg F.

All operational surfaces are bare wet pavement at this time.

FVE weather at 1535 Z: wind 130@10; visibility 1/4 LFR FOG; sky vertical visibility 200; OAT 34 deg F.

Happy first official day of winter!!

Due to a freezing rain event that commenced at 1215 Z here at FVE the airport is closed. If the forecast weather warms rapidly we are hopeful that the surface ice will melt, however, we anticipate that the airport will be offline until at least 1215 Z December 22.
