FVE RWY 32 at 1336 Z. A snow squall at 0030 Z 12/23 as the high pressure pushed the moisture out left a very thin rough coating of snow. This should continue to dissipate with the sun and wind.

Happy first official day of winter!!

Due to a freezing rain event that commenced at 1215 Z here at FVE the airport is closed. If the forecast weather warms rapidly we are hopeful that the surface ice will melt, however, we anticipate that the airport will be offline until at least 1215 Z December 22.

Beautiful sunny day at FVE. Today’s picture of runway 32 taken at 1721 Z is about as good as it gets for winter pavement. There is an icy patch about mid field to the right of the centerline, but should be no factor. FVE 1833Z weather: wind 290@09; visibility 10; sky CLR; OAT 25 deg F.

FVE received less than an inch of new snow overnight. This has created very slippery runway conditions. As of 1515 Z we are plowing the runway. As the OAT rises above the freezing point and the sun breaks through the clouds we are hopeful that the pavement will dry. At 1530 Z FVE was reporting wind 260@07; visibility 10; sky OVC 4,400; and OAT 33 deg F.
